About Us
The Schools of Sanctuary Kent project aims at raising awareness amongst primary and secondary school pupils on the issues surrounding migration, asylum and refugees.

We run free interactive workshops for all ages in school to create an opportunity for pupils to engage with current affairs in a safe and supportive manner.

This website offers free, easily accessible resources, ideas and lesson plans for pupils and staff to:
-
learn about migration and refugees in the classroom.
-
embed concepts of welcome in school polices and procedures, providing simple steps to take to make sure new arrivals feel welcomed and supported at school.
-
share the learning within the wider community, creating a welcoming and inclusive 'school of sanctuary'.
The Schools of Sanctuary Kent Project is delivered by Samphire- a charity based in Dover that works to create a society which is inclusive and compassionate towards migrants.
